This Privacy Policy describes how Japality Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), a company incorporated in Hong Kong, collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the MolSketchGo mobile application (the "App" or "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Saved drawings and settings: Molecular structures, drawing names, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud account system unless you export or share data yourself.
• Support communications: If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send (e.g. email address, message content).

Information Collected Automatically

• Device and usage data: Our third-party partners may collect diagnostic and usage information such as device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, and interaction data to provide advertising and subscription services.
• Advertising identifiers: On iOS, with your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT), advertising partners may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to deliver personalised ads. You can deny tracking in the system prompt or in iOS Settings.
• Purchase information: When you subscribe to MolSketchGo Pro, payment is processed by Apple (App Store). We do not receive your full payment card details. Our subscription provider may receive purchase receipts and subscription status linked to an anonymous app user ID.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not require you to create an account to use the App. We do not knowingly collect precise location data, contacts, photos, or health data through the App.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Process and validate subscriptions (MolSketchGo Pro)
• Display advertisements in the free version of the App
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services that may collect information under their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your activity to provide interest-based advertising.

RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

We use RevenueCat to manage MolSketchGo Pro subscriptions, validate purchases, and restore entitlements. RevenueCat may process purchase history, subscription status, and device identifiers.

PubChem / NCBI (Chemical Data)

When you use features such as compound lookup, IUPAC naming, or InChI export, the App sends chemical identifiers (e.g. SMILES) to the PubChem API operated by the U.S. National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).

RCSB PDB (Optional Structure Import)

If you import a PDB structure by identifier, the App requests public data from RCSB. No account is required.

4. Legal Bases (where applicable)

Depending on your jurisdiction, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (improving the App, fraud prevention), consent (where required for tracking or marketing), and legal obligation.

5. Data Retention

• Local app data: Retained on your device until you delete the App or clear saved drawings.
• Subscription records: Retained as needed to manage your Pro status and as required by Apple, RevenueCat, and applicable law.
• Support emails: Retained as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for our records.

6. Sharing of Information

We may share information with:

• Service providers (advertising, subscription management) who process data on our behalf
• Apple, in connection with in-app purchases and subscriptions
• Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights

We do not sell your personal information.

7. International Transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries outside Hong Kong, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Hong Kong users may exercise rights under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO). To exercise these rights, contact us at japalitylimited@gmail.com.

iOS users: You can limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.

10. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
