Thank you for using hexJapality. This app is provided by Japality Limited (“Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), a company incorporated in Hong Kong. We respect your privacy and aim to comply with applicable laws, including the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), the EU/UK GDPR where applicable, and platform requirements from Apple and Google.

1. Summary

hexJapality is a hex file viewer and editor. Files you open are processed on your device. We do not operate a user account system and we do not upload your file contents to our servers.

2. Information We Collect

• Device and usage data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, crash logs, and basic performance diagnostics.
• Advertising identifiers: on iOS (IDFA, subject to App Tracking Transparency) and Android (Advertising ID), used for advertising and measurement when ads are shown.
• Support communications: if you email us, we receive the information you choose to send (e.g. email address, message content).
• Subscription status: we receive entitlement/purchase status from Apple, Google, and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) to determine whether ads should be removed. We do not receive your payment card details.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require registration or login.
• We do not upload the binary files you inspect or edit in the app to our servers.
• We do not sell your personal data.

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses third-party SDKs that may process data under their own policies:

• Google AdMob — banner and app-open ads (when you have not subscribed to Remove Ads). Google Privacy Policy
• Google UMP / consent tools — ad consent where required by law.
• Apple App Tracking Transparency — optional tracking permission on iOS.
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase validation. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for subscriptions (handled entirely by the platform).

5. Remove Ads Subscription

If you purchase Remove Ads, advertising is disabled and AdMob ad requests stop for your app session/device according to our implementation. Subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms.

6. How We Use Information

• Operate and improve the app.
• Display ads (unless you have Remove Ads).
• Validate subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Diagnose crashes and technical issues.
• Respond to support requests.
• Comply with legal obligations.

7. Legal Bases (where GDPR applies)

We rely on legitimate interests and contractual necessity to provide the app, display ads (with consent where required), and process subscriptions. You may withdraw consent for ads via device settings or applicable in-app privacy controls.

8. Data Retention

We retain support emails and necessary records only as long as needed for support, legal, or accounting purposes. Analytics and ad partners may retain data according to their own policies.

9. International Transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries outside Hong Kong. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, contact us below.

You can limit ad tracking on your device: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android ad settings in Settings → Google → Ads.

11. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in certain regions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
