Terms of Use
By downloading or using Stego (the “App”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Provider
The App is provided by Japality Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (“we”, “us”). Contact: japalitylimited@gmail.com.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App in accordance with these Terms and applicable app-store rules.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not use steganography features to conceal illegal content, evade lawful investigation, harass others, or violate intellectual-property or privacy rights. You are solely responsible for your content and conduct.
4. Stego Pro Subscriptions
- Stego Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that removes in-app advertising. Features otherwise remain the same.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device’s App Store or Google Play subscription settings after purchase.
- Free trials, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we cannot override store refund decisions.
5. Advertising (Free Tier)
Without an active Stego Pro subscription, the App may show third-party advertisements. Ad personalization is subject to your consent choices and our Privacy Policy.
6. No Professional Advice
The App is a utility tool. We do not provide legal, security, or forensic advice. Steganography is not encryption. Hidden data may still be detectable or lost through recompression.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, ERROR-FREE EXTRACTION, OR THAT HIDDEN DATA WILL SURVIVE THIRD-PARTY REPROCESSING.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY HONG KONG LAW, JAPALITY LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) HKD 100.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Japality Limited and its officers, directors, and employees from claims arising out of your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled, including advertising and subscription services.
11. Changes
We may modify these Terms. Continued use after the Effective Date of an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes may be notified in-app or on this page.
12. Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time. You may stop using the App by uninstalling it. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, subject to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your jurisdiction.
