How do I record a voice memo?
Open any task and tap the microphone button. Grant microphone permission if prompted. Your recordings are stored locally on your device and never uploaded to any server.
How do I complete a task?
You can complete tasks in three ways:
- Swipe right on the task (green background appears)
- Tap the checkbox next to the task
- Long press the task and select "Complete" from the menu
How do I delete a task?
Swipe left on the task to reveal the delete option. A confirmation dialog will appear to prevent accidental deletions. Deleting a task also removes any associated voice recordings.
Is my data safe and private?
Yes! SpeakToDoList is 100% offline. All your tasks and voice recordings are stored locally on your device with encryption. No data is ever sent to external servers or shared with third parties.
How do notifications work?
Set due dates for your tasks, and the app will remind you 1 hour before the deadline. You'll also receive notifications when you complete tasks and unlock achievement badges.
Can I use the app without an internet connection?
Absolutely! SpeakToDoList is designed to work completely offline. You never need an internet connection to create tasks, record voice memos, or use any feature.
How do I enable Dark Mode?
Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right) and toggle the "Dark Mode" switch. The app will immediately switch to a dark theme.
What are the different view modes?
SpeakToDoList offers multiple views:
- List View - Traditional task list
- Kanban Board - Visual workflow management
- Calendar View - See tasks by date
- Mind Map - Brainstorm and organize ideas
Switch views using the icon in the top right corner of the home screen.
Troubleshooting
Voice recording not working?
Make sure you've granted microphone permission to SpeakToDoList. Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → enable SpeakToDoList.
Notifications not appearing?
Check that notifications are enabled for the app in iPhone Settings → Notifications → SpeakToDoList. Also ensure you've set due dates for your tasks.
App running slowly?
Try deleting old completed tasks or voice recordings you no longer need. You can also restart the app to refresh performance.
Lost your data?
All data is stored locally on your device. If you deleted the app, the data cannot be recovered. We recommend regularly backing up your device via iCloud or iTunes.
