Data Usage Explanation
1. Weather Data
All weather information displayed in this app comes from the Hong Kong Observatory public API. We do not:
- Store your weather queries on our servers
- Track which regions' weather you view
- Record your search history
2. Local Storage
To provide a smoother user experience, the following data is stored on your device (not uploaded to any server):
- Preference Settings - Your selected language, unit settings (hPa/mmHg)
- Cache Data - Recently viewed weather information (within 24 hours)
- Map Cache - Loaded map layers to avoid repeated downloads
You can clear this cached data anytime in the app "Settings".
3. Network Connection
This app requires an internet connection to:
- Download the latest weather data from Hong Kong Observatory
- Load Hong Kong Government map services
- Receive weather warning push notifications
All network requests are only for obtaining weather-related information and do not transmit your personal data.
Third-Party Services
Hong Kong Observatory API
We use the public data API provided by the Hong Kong Observatory to obtain weather information. For details, please see:
Hong Kong Lands Department Map Services
Map services in the app are provided by the Hong Kong Lands Department, complying with government open data licenses.
Google AdMob Advertising Services
To support the ongoing development and maintenance of this app, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Information Collected by AdMob:
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA/GAID) - Only collected if you consent to the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt
- IP Address - Used for geolocation targeting (city level only)
- Device Information - Device model, operating system version, screen size
- App Information - App version, package name

Notification Permissions
This app will request your permission to send notifications so we can alert you promptly when the Hong Kong Observatory issues weather warnings.
Notification content:
- Tropical cyclone warnings
- Rainstorm and thunderstorm warnings
- Cold and hot weather warnings
- Other important warnings issued by the Observatory
You can disable notification functionality anytime in iOS "Settings". Even if disabled, you can still view all warning information within the app.
Children's Privacy Protection
This app is suitable for all ages (4+) and does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13.
Since we do not collect any personal data, privacy is equally protected regardless of user age.
International Users
This app primarily serves users in the Hong Kong region, but is welcome to be used by people worldwide.
We do not store users' geographic location information, so the privacy policy applies consistently regardless of where you use the app.
