Japality Limited
Japality Genomics Viewer
A genome browser that fits in your pocket. Open a FASTA, then add the tracks you already have.
See sequence, genes, and reads on the phone
JGV is built for Android (and coming to iOS): pan and pinch a locus the way you would on a laptop browser, without sending your files to our servers.
Open .fa / .fasta / .fna. A .fai index is built on the device if you do not already have one.
GFF/GTF, BED, BEDPE, VCF, BAM/CRAM, BigWig — pick them after the genome, or together in Open files.
Android copies each file into app storage the first time. The next open reuses that copy.
Why JGV
On-device
Your genomes stay on the phone. Japality does not host a cloud browser for your FASTA or BAM.
Touch-first
Designed for fingers: open, add tracks, pan/zoom a region. Settings include theme and open-source licenses.
Formats researchers already use
Not a new file format. Point JGV at the files you already keep in Downloads or a project folder.
Session JSON
Save locus + tracks as a small JSON session and load it later on the same device.
