Welcome to UnitNow ("App"), a mobile application developed and operated by Japality Limited ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

UnitNow is designed with privacy in mind. The App allows you to convert units across multiple categories. Data stored on your device includes:

• Conversion history
• App settings and preferences (language, theme, decimal places, rounding mode)
• Purchase and trial status

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We do not directly collect any personal information from you. However, third-party services integrated into the App may collect certain information:

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers optional in-app purchases to remove advertisements and unlock premium features ("UnitNow PRO"):

• Monthly Subscription: An auto-renewable monthly subscription that removes advertisements and unlocks all PRO features.
• Yearly Subscription: An auto-renewable annual subscription that removes advertisements and unlocks all PRO features.
• Lifetime Access: A one-time purchase that permanently removes advertisements and unlocks all PRO features.

3.1 PRO Features

UnitNow PRO currently includes the following benefits:

• Ad-free experience — all banner, interstitial, and app-open advertisements are removed
• All categories unlocked — Speed, Pressure, and Data conversions

A 7-day free trial with full access to all PRO features is provided upon first installation. No credit card or sign-up is required for the trial. After the trial period ends, you will automatically revert to the free version of the App — you will not be charged unless you voluntarily purchase a subscription or lifetime access. Additional PRO features may be added in future updates.

3.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Japality Limited does not directly collect, store, or process any payment information such as credit card numbers.

3.3 Subscription Management

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous user identifier
• Purchase and subscription status
• Transaction history

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information unless you provide it directly to us.

3.4 Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

3.5 Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple, as they process all payments. Japality Limited does not have the ability to process refunds directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.

4. Advertising

The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. When you use the free version:

• Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID)
• Google AdMob may collect IP address and location data
• Google AdMob may use cookies and similar technologies
• Advertisements may be personalized based on your interests

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

Purchasing any premium option (Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime) will completely remove all advertisements from the App.

5. Notifications

The App may request notification permission to send you:

• Free trial expiration reminders

All notifications are generated locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

6. How We Use Information

Since we do not collect your personal data, our use of information is limited to:

• Providing and maintaining the App's functionality
• Processing and managing your purchases and subscriptions
• Displaying advertisements (free version only)
• Responding to your inquiries and support requests

7. Data Storage and Security

7.1 Local Storage

All data you enter is stored locally on your device. This data:

• Is not transmitted to our servers
• Is not accessible to Japality Limited
• Is not backed up to our systems
• May be backed up through your device's backup system (iCloud Backup)

7.2 Data Deletion

You can delete your conversion history and all other data at any time through the App. Uninstalling the App will also delete all locally stored data. To delete data synced via device backup services, please refer to Apple's documentation.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: With third-party service providers (Google AdMob, RevenueCat) who assist in operating the App, subject to their privacy policies.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Protection of Rights: To protect and defend our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). Since all data is stored locally on the device and not transmitted to us, children can use the App without providing personal information to Japality Limited.

Parents and guardians should supervise their children's use of the App and any in-app purchases. We recommend using device parental controls to manage purchases.

10. Your Rights

10.1 For All Users

• Access: You have full access to all data stored locally on your device.
• Deletion: You can delete your data at any time through the App or by uninstalling the App.
• Opt-out: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.

10.2 For European Economic Area (EEA) Residents

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have additional rights including:

• Right to access your personal data
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to restrict processing
• Right to data portability
• Right to object to processing

10.3 For California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected
• Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed
• Say no to the sale of personal information
• Access your personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Equal service and price, even if you exercise your privacy rights

We do not sell your personal information.

10.4 For Japanese Residents

Under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI / 個人情報保護法), you have rights including:

• Right to request disclosure of your personal information held by us
• Right to request correction, addition, or deletion of inaccurate personal information
• Right to request suspension of use or erasure of personal information that is no longer necessary
• Right to request suspension of provision of personal information to third parties

Since UnitNow stores all data locally on your device and Japality Limited does not collect or hold your personal information, these rights are inherently satisfied by the App's design. If you have any questions regarding your rights under APPI, please contact us at japalitylimited@gmail.com.

11. International Data Transfers

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it is not transferred internationally by us. However, third-party services (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple) may transfer data internationally in accordance with their privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.

12. Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. We do not retain your data on our servers because we never receive it.

Third-party service providers may retain data according to their own retention policies:

• Google AdMob: As per Google's data retention policies
• RevenueCat: Purchase data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus any legally required retention period

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.

14. Apple-Specific Disclosures

If you download the App from the Apple App Store, Apple may collect certain information as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. Additionally:

• Apple processes in-app purchases and subscriptions
• Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymous analytics about App usage
• Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework allows you to control whether apps can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites

15. Acceptance and Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms of this Privacy Policy. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with using the App, including but not limited to:

• Risks arising from inaccurate or incomplete unit conversion results
• Risks of data loss due to device failure, software updates, or uninstallation
• Risks arising from third-party services (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple)
• Risks of unauthorized access to your device and the data stored therein
• Any financial, personal, or professional consequences resulting from reliance on the App

If you do not agree to assume these risks, you must immediately cease use of the App and uninstall it from your device.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If you have any dispute arising out of or relating to this Privacy Policy, you agree to first contact us at japalitylimited@gmail.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• JAPALITY LIMITED DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
• JAPALITY LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES WERE FORESEEABLE AND WHETHER JAPALITY LIMITED HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
• JAPALITY LIMITED SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO: (A) ERRORS, INACCURACIES, OR OMISSIONS IN UNIT CONVERSION RESULTS; (B) ANY DECISION MADE OR ACTION TAKEN BY YOU IN RELIANCE ON THE APP; (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA; (D) ANY INTERRUPTION, SUSPENSION, OR DISCONTINUATION OF THE APP.
• TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JAPALITY LIMITED'S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL BE ZERO (0). WHERE APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES A MINIMUM LIABILITY AMOUNT, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF JAPALITY LIMITED FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP EXCEED THE LESSER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID DIRECTLY TO JAPALITY LIMITED (NOT TO APPLE, GOOGLE, OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY) FOR THE APP IN THE ONE (1) MONTH IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE UNITED STATES DOLLAR (USD $1.00). FOR CLARITY, PAYMENTS MADE TO APPLE OR GOOGLE ARE PAYMENTS TO THOSE ENTITIES, NOT TO JAPALITY LIMITED.
• JAPALITY LIMITED BEARS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ACTS, OMISSIONS, CONDUCT, OR POLICIES OF ANY THIRD PARTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO GOOGLE ADMOB, REVENUECAT, APPLE, OR ANY ADVERTISER.
• YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT JAPALITY LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP.
• YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY HEREIN REFLECT A REASONABLE AND FAIR ALLOCATION OF RISK AND ARE AN ESSENTIAL BASIS OF THE BARGAIN BETWEEN YOU AND JAPALITY LIMITED.

18. Unit Conversion Disclaimer

The App is designed solely as a personal convenience tool for approximate unit conversions. Conversion results are provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors. You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

• Conversion results SHALL NOT be relied upon for any critical, professional, commercial, medical, pharmaceutical, engineering, aviation, scientific, legal, or regulatory purposes
• You are solely responsible for verifying all conversion results through independent, authoritative sources before taking any action based on them
• Japality Limited makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of any conversion result
• Japality Limited shall bear no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, injury, death, or any other consequence arising directly or indirectly from the use of or reliance on conversion results provided by the App

19. Data Loss Disclaimer

All conversion history and settings are stored locally on your device. Japality Limited does not maintain backups of your data. You are solely responsible for backing up your device. Loss of data may occur due to device failure, software updates, uninstallation, or other causes. Japality Limited shall have no liability for any such data loss.

20. Waiver of Claims

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you hereby irrevocably waive, release, and forever discharge Japality Limited, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, expenses, and causes of action of any kind or nature (whether known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected), arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App.

This waiver includes, without limitation, claims arising from: conversion inaccuracies, data loss, service interruptions, subscription or billing disputes, third-party actions, advertising content, and any personal, financial, or professional harm allegedly caused by the App.

21. Class Action Waiver

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU IRREVOCABLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST JAPALITY LIMITED.

22. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to unconditionally defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Japality Limited, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees, court costs, and settlement costs) arising from or related to: (a) your use of or access to the App; (b) your violation of this Privacy Policy; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) your violation of any third-party rights; or (e) any claim that your use of the App caused damage to a third party. This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of your use of the App.

23. Severability

If any provision of this Privacy Policy is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

24. Third-Party Beneficiaries

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Privacy Policy and, upon your acceptance of this Privacy Policy, will have the right to enforce this Privacy Policy against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

25. Intellectual Property

The App, including but not limited to its design, graphics, interface, code, content, and all intellectual property rights therein, is and shall remain the exclusive property of Japality Limited. Nothing in this Privacy Policy grants you any right, title, or interest in the App or its intellectual property, except for the limited license to use the App in accordance with the terms of the applicable app store.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part thereof without the prior written consent of Japality Limited.

26. No Waiver

The failure of Japality Limited to enforce any right or provision of this Privacy Policy shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of this Privacy Policy will be effective only if in writing and signed by Japality Limited. No single or partial exercise of any right or remedy shall preclude the further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.

27. Entire Agreement

This Privacy Policy, together with any applicable terms of service, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Japality Limited regarding the use of the App and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, regarding such subject matter.

28. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy
• Providing notice through the App when you next open it

Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
